May 31, 2010 - Hi everyone! It has been awhile since I last updated my news, and that's because I was too busy making some! I have finally settled into a new home in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. On my first day as a resident I ran into an unfortunate situation with a bicycle and a dirt road and spent my first week recovering while finishing my last month of studies and teaching with the IVY School of Music.
I have been studying at the Nova Scotia Community College for the past two years in a music and music business program. For our final month we had to produce, perform in, and promote the NSCC Spring Music Festival. I am happy to report that I produced the three final shows which took place at The Company House, and The North Street Church in Halifax, and that they went off without a hitch. I invited some talented friends to join myself and my classmates including Ian Sherwood, Dave Carroll, Christina Martin, and even hosted an international show with some guests from Cuba (Canadian Primos) and Sweden!
I was also fortunate enough to be awarded the Highest Achievement Award for graduating as the top student in my music class!
It has been a busy month!

Near the beginning of the month, I performed two showcases at The AMP Festival in Wolfville. I was joined by Brendan and Greg Melchin for both performances, and also by Scott and Ryan Hupman (The Hupman Brothers) for the second. Thanks to Andy and Ariana, I have a video of one of our songs, incase you missed it! To your left you can view "Dancing With Me" which will be included on the new album in the fall. This version has a very special "broken string" moment courtesy of Ryan Hupman.

I also finally got a cut of my "Perfect Line" video! I know some of you have been asking for this for some time, well here it is! The video was shot as a project for the NSCC Screen Arts Students (2010). It was produced by Martin Noel, and directed by Stefano Andriani. The concept was entirely written by the students who then chose my song to work with. It was a really neat experience. Check it out on the left!
Well that's enough about the past. What now? Rehearsals for the new album start on Wednesday. I am very excited to work with Scott Hupman and the rest of the boys.
Also, I'll be headlining "Night Kitchen" at the Al Whittle Theatre on Saturday, June 5th. If you're in town, come say "hello"!
Lots of love,
Jenny
