April 15, 2010 - Hi folks! As you may have noticed, I've been making some changes to the site and how it works. I started to feel guilty everytime I deleted all of my news updates in order to write new news updates, so, I created a news archive. If you click the link at the bottom of this page, you can read all of the previous updates starting with the latest one, incase you missed anything!

I've also added a couple of new sections including "Press" which features some recent articles for your reading pleasure. "Music Education" has been added as a result of inquiries about where I teach and offer music lessions. I think that brings me to my next news item!

Speaking of new projects, I have quite a few on the go. I am gearing up for studio time with Scott Hupman (The Hupman Brothers) to record my second full length album. As a fundraising venture for the album, I am currently working on a July 2010 House Concert Tour which will take me from Nova Scotia to Ontario. If you'd like to take part (even if you don't know how) please drop me a line! It's quite easy and quite fun to host a concert, and no experience is necessary! Email booking@jennymacdonald.com for more information.

For the month of May, as a final project with the NSCC Music Arts and Business program I've been attending for the past two years, I am involved in organizing, marketing, and performing in the NSCC Spring Music Festival. We have some really great guests lined up including Ian Sherwood, Dave Carroll, and even some visiting musicians from Cuba and Switzerland.

Al Whittle Theatre - Wolfville, NS
I have been busy writing business plans, designing workshops, and getting the ball rolling on a project that I will launch this summer in Wolfville, Nova Scotia - Red Apple Music. This project will serve as a contemporary music education program with lots of neat stuff from private music lessons to barbershop quartets to songwriting workshops. Check out the website and keep your ears and eyes open for the launch date!

Lastly, I am very excited to be performing in 2010's AMPFest. This festival is one of Annapolis Valley's treasures and hosts a number of great performers as you can see on the left. The festival takes place from May 7-9 and it's 100% acoustic. I will have an acoustic band  with me for this one! Keep your eyes open for the performance schedule.

Thanks for reading with me on this rainy Thursday evening.

As always, lots of love!

Jenny
